25 = Average
10 = Minimum
57 = Max

That's with 16AF, 4AA @ 1680*1050, All setting maxed of course

. All stock settings (no overclocks).

Im at 20% with 4.5 hours to go. Plus my card will probally suck on this game but meh.

Thats with Q6600 @ 3GHz, 4GB RAM and SLI'ed 8800 GTXs
Expected a bit better to be honest, hopefully some optimisation work will go on for SLI

What the hell they done to the ground and building textures, there no where near as good as in the beta in DX9, have they saved them for DX10 only or just lowered them for better performance? If someone could post up some close up screens of road and building texture in DX9 and 10 that would be great.

I wouldn't worry too much about performance until we find out if there is going to be an optimized driver from nvidia, so far every release of this game has resulted in one.

As for textures, its probably to stop people moaning about download size, developers really are in a no win situation these days

looks like somebody has the detail settings on low, mine looks a lot better than that, but obviously frame rates suffer

Textures look very good to me (a lot better than the pics I posted but thats probably due to jpeg compression etc.) and honestly apart from a few more objects and more volumised smoke effects and slightly crisper textures the difference between dx9 and 10 is minimal and I cant see why there is such a framerate hit.

Looks a lot better in DX10 in my opinion, the smoke and fire is so much nicer.

Dont think so, how the hell would i have the them on low, i aint blind, i can read the GFX config menu. Yours look a lot better than what? i played the beta and i know textures on bulidings and roads in DX9 in the demo are not as good as in the beta

I agree with you the smoke does look better but for me it doesnt warrant such a large fps hit, ill be playing in dx9 till I get a 9800/r680 card.

Is there a fps hit for smoke in dx10 even?

SLI'ed 8800 GTXs = 11fps

OMG just come back from a major sesshion on this demo.

Its hard to get used to it at first but once your going and know what to do its great. Got towards of an online game and 3 nukes pretty much whent off at the same time, my whoel room just lit up and the whole sky just darkened. Then when the smoke cleared the whole of pine valley had just been flattend

Its great, with this in bioshock my hardware is finally paying off, not a jitter nothing, looks so sweet, clouds, sun, explosions, units, everything. fantastic

I would disagree, i was playing it on my 3700+ X800 1Gb rig in the beta and with so moderate settings, 1280x1024 it wasnt doing too bad.

Unfortunately i got my new rig the day the beta closed

But now i have the demo! So i will be trying to play that at some point at the weekend if my BioShock addiction doesnt take over..

Hi,

I have to say what a game!! I played the multiplayer beta before but im loving the single player!! The graphics, cutscenes, gameplay and just everything is just top notch. I dont even care about bioshock now ive played this so this must be good!!!!!! Thought id have a quick game an hour later and id completed the single player demo

My faith in PC gaming is slowly being restored.
