GTS 320Mb Vs GTS 640Mb Vs 2900XT

all other car games iv played have the engines perform like formula 1 cars/honda vtecs, no real feeling of the torque curve, even forza 2 on xbox360 is poor in its car engine torque mapping. the viper is the best example, in tdu it has proper low end torque, in forza 2 engine only gives power if you rev the nuts of it honda vtec style.

Apparently H mode makes it more realistic, but I dont think that is true, I seen good drift videos on Youtube tho when using H mode.
 
ahh think thats what im runing, all driving assists turned off and using manual gears.
i thought it had something to do with the H shifter option.

So at the main screen you selected Hardcore mode and you've also turned off driving assist, and you have like a picture of the car and were stress is going round corners and all that? You must be an awsome driver, I cant drive to save my life in H mode with driving assist off :eek:
 
hardcore mode? where do i select this then? i don;t get a car stress picture? you are aware im playing the pc version by the way?

Ok, well, first, you need to be champion, now exit the game, start the game again, now before pressing continue or something, click hardcore mode, right on the first menu when you start the game.
 
ahh im not champion yet. i could not run tdu when i went to vista so been without it for a long time.
and i get problem in races with vista most of the time saying the network connection was disconnected???

got the x1950pro on order for the 2nd pc which is running xp and tdu works fine on that other than slow fps on the 7600gs. woudl be interesting to unlock this mode.

Indeed, 8800GTS will reach around 648/2000 which is not far off GTX performance, 2900XT does overclock but not as much and doesnt seem to gain much from it.

yes and ive also shown a review where the Nvidia 158.22 drivers are being used, and its still beat, and the 158.22's are decent drivers, may not be the latest, but neither are ATi's 7.4's. :p

Didn't see that one but don't need to either since there from back in june so there pretty useless too.
 
Today ive changed my mind like 30 times.But i think im going for the 2900XT,it is cheaper than the 8800GTS 640.As for the 320Mb,i am worried if i will be able to play Crysis maxed out with it,so I guess it isnt the best option.I still have 14 hours to decide though:).Its gonna be a looooong night :(
 
wait for crysis to come out. and then see the benchmarks on it. iv seen the firing squad benchmarks and they show the 8800gts 320 beating a 2900xt 1gig version. but if your desperate to have a gfx card now then well, let us know how it goes.....

DX10 games have only just arrived though and thats new ground for both of them regardless of how long the cards have been out and the 8800GTS has the upper hand so far, as well as still being faster in many DX9 titles with AA, and in the case of stalker without.

That's a bit crazy if you ask me, saying as Crysis was designed with the G80 tech. ;)
