£5 Photobox Posters! And a photo to look at!

Half the challenge is just finding a decent photo that is a good enough resolution.

Might just go for this and see what the results are like:

Damn this promotion. Racked up a basket worth £35, then thought to myself thats a bit too much to spend but couldn't find anything to remove so ended up just paying it

Nevermind some nice photos on their way :D

The pictures I used were 3000x2190 (JPEG as well) and have come out pretty nicely at 30"x20" certainly from any viewing distance greater than 50cm they look fantastic, you have to be really close to spot any flaws.

Looks like you can't use images that aren't of a high enough resolution :(
I guess you could perhaps create a montage similar to what lord_scott is doing? I don't think there's anything in photobox' T&Cs about only using one photo per print.

I've just mounted my test print. Not the most visually appealing of subjects, it still looks great from appropriate viewing distances. You can't see the compression artifacts from there ;). I'm definitely ordering a couple more at this price!

I was slightly worried at the amount of artifacting you could see in the picture - then I looked at the frame and realised that there's artifacting there too and thus you've posted a non high quality jpeg file! Greatly relieved now - though it does make it harder to work out what it'll look like. I guess I'll know in a couple of days anyway.

Ah, sorry 'bout that. Should have mentioned since it was compressed to only 18KB to make it dialup-safe (just in case!)

Hmm i never got any email about this but after reading this thread I saw it is on the main site.

Thanks for the heads up, just ordered 8 30x20 prints for £42.99... bargain :D

Where did you get your frame from mate? and what size is it etc etc?

Ikea. It's a 70x100cm frame (about 39" by 27") and one of only two big enough to hold the largest size photo print. The included border will crop your image to 27" by 19.5" if you opt to use it. Available in black, white, a few natural wood colours and aliminium. Thick and thin outer frames.

I think it's one of these at 70x100cm in aluminium but if you don't fancy a border get a 70x50cm frame and a pair of scissors. You'll have to lop a few inches off the longest edge ;)

I guess this offer is on for another 23 hours or so? It says it finishes "Midnight Wednesday", but it's possible that was 26 mins ago maybe?

Anyway, I've found some lovely high res images now, so I'll have to get some printed.
