Hi,

need to pick up two 24" Widescreens for a client but not sure if its worth paying a little extra for the HC version?

The client is using them for financial work (dual dispaly lol) so I can't see him getting the full benefit from the HC?

Anything else I need to know?

HI there

OcUK has a large volume of 2407WFP-HC arriving Thursday and were a lot cheaper than DELL are currently advertising at. :)

We've also done a huge price drop on the standard 2407WFP which now brings the price under £400 Inc. VAT.

Let me clarify our buy price for the HC model is more than the standard one.

What is "HC"? Sorry for a newbie question! I am going to be music in 2D application like cubase etc... is HC required?

I have the following card:

Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 2400 PRO SILENT 256MB DDR2 HDTV/DVI (PCI-Express)

Thanks!

Hi there

You will be fine with the normal version, or even the Samsung 245B if thats your intended use. :)

Defintely 2407WFP A04 over the Samsung 245B anyday the A04 has an S-PVA panel same as the more expensive Samsung 245T (£529!) With OCUK at £334 that's a bargain. I had an A04 and now have a HC and yes the HC has richer colour and a more vibrant image but the A04 is still the next best especially at the current price!

On this basis, I just ordered the HC. I have a cheap 19" TN LCD now, so will post here tomorrow once I've got them running side by side.

£411.24 inc VAT...was it on TWO for less then £400...damn!

Nice but this doesnt answer the question. Whats the refresh rate it can take?
Also do Dell have a 0 dead pixel policy?

all TFT's are the same in this regard, operating at an optimum refresh rate of 60Hz, they don't operate in the same way as CRT's do. 1920 x 1200 res is perfectly comfortable at a screen size of 24". the pixel pitch is a little bigger than 20" models, but smaller than 27", 22" or 19" models, so text feels about right imo

Off the Dell website -

LCD and Plasma Quality Standards

During the manufacturing process, it is not uncommon for one or more pixels to be fixed in an unchanging state. The visible result is a fixed pixel that appears as an extremely tiny dark or bright discolored spot.

In almost every case, these fixed pixels are hard to notice and do not detract from the display quality or usability. A display with 1 to 5 fixed pixels is within the industry standards, and is therefore considered an acceptable display. LCD/Plasma screens that do not meet this industry standard are rarely passed on from the point of manufacturing.

But I have seen atleast 1 website offering a 0 dead pixel returns policy on the dell WFP2407-HC
