Dual channel memory layout

I have one of the new AM2+ boards with all the copper plumbing on. I also have a Thermalright SI128 heat sink which I want to use.

Now, the memory question.

I'm using 2 x 1 Gb. The mobo has 2 sets of yellow and black memory holders, A1 and A2 (together) and B1 and B2 (together). The manual says to put one module into A1 and one into B1 for dual channel operation.

Fair enough. But, with my short, very wide heatsink it would be easier if I could use A2 and B2. Would it be OK to use these slots, with nothing in A1 and B1? The manual doesn't actually say so, but it may well be that A1 and B1 are just the obvious default position, so I think it's worth asking.

Thanks furnace. One of those where you'd think so, but before you clip the actual expensive items together...
