mmmm...

got a MSI one which is factory clocked at 730/975

but in ATITool I get a pulsating noise from the graphics card ... goes up and down in tone in sync with the rotating cube ...

if you reduce clock to 710 it goes away or becomes much quieter

presumably its noise from some of the inductors

but is it normal ?

my PSU is a 750W Tagan - so should be providing enough juice ...

i have 2*512mb PC4000 ballistix that whistle under load, they have done for 3 years or so - it should be fine. maybe e-mail their support for confirmation, and keep the e-mail just in case.

I've got this card and its fine - lovely and quiet......

thanks guys :)

after some experimentation this morning :(

its not the graphics card :)

its the PSU :)

just not sure if its normal or not. Its a decent one so should be OK - its a Tagan U25 700W PSU - should be able to cope easily.

should I worry ?

means probably my X1900XT was not noisey it was the PSU too !

Mark.

actually seems to be coming from both PSU and Graphics card (used a toilet roll to investigate !)

.... graphics card much quieter - more noise from PSU but same noise

PSU making graphics card make a noise, or other way round ?

the Tagan has 3x PCI-E power rails, but each only 20A ... only using one PCI-E rail, but depending on how its setup internally it may not be enough as Nvidia recommend 25A ?

Im just about to order one of those puppies.... seems to be the fastest gts on the market ATM... was trying to find the ASUS T.O.P but I cant find it anywhere yet...

I dont suppose youve tried to squeeze any more out of it at all??

not a lot to be honest :(

with shader set to 1850 (stock for MSI)

best I can get is 770-780 core and 1000 RAM

anything higher and I get problems in ATI Tool
