After 2 months worth of problem I have decided to leave BeThere due to having a 120 ping every day, which somewhat affects my "hardcore" gaming habbits :)

I have been doing some looking around on the UK isp "ratings" pages and am stuck as to who to go to, ADSL24, 02 have caught me eye so far.

Preferably no contract and the faster the download the better.

And... I don't need any email accounts, i dont need any webspace and i don't need a static ip :)

o2 is the same network as bethere and yeah I'd recomend adsl24 if you dont have a sky package and your exchange isnt fully unbundled.. see whats available to you.

Be + o2 = same network
UKOnline + Sky = same network

Those are your only two (decent) LLU options.

IMO at the moment if you don't care for the cost then Zen are probably going to offer the best service, support, speed and consistency of any of the non-llu providers.

Enta have capacity issues too it would seem, but they offer a very good value for money service and my experience of ADSL24 has always been positive, so much so that when 21CN rolls into my exchange at the start of the new year I think I will be ditching Be if theres no sign of things improving and returning to them.

O2 are with BE *

You won't get another ISP with no contract or faster downloads other than Be * to be honest.

Well done.

Zen are good but have 25gb download limit and contract of 12 months.

People complain but I wish they would just calm down, people want everything now now now now now now now now now!!!!

Zen are monthly contract not 12 as previously stated. And they are the about the most relyable ISP in the country but you pay for that in cost and a cap.

If you're unlucky enough to be in one of the bad areas at the moment then indeed o2/Be are probably awful...However, it's a temporary problem. They've always sorted this kind of thing very quickly in the past.

agreed but I used to have 6-10ping with BT8mb then when I first had Bethere it went to 15-20 now i'm lucky if i see below 50! I have raised numerous support tickets and they claim that my ping is within the normal and perfectly acceptable!!

If anyone is interested in an update:

I requested my MAC code but didn't order anything from Virgin. BE appear to have actually fixed my problem, 30 ping solid all day today and yesterday. I'm actually happy! :) My route has changed completly
