I've just turned my old PC on for the first time in about a year, which uses a Sempon 2800+ (2.0GHz) T-bred Processor. Now suddenly the processor has changed itself into a Athlon XP 1500+ (1.33 GHz) ??? It says this in the BIOS, and in CPU-Z, and feels much slower than it used to be, how did this happen?

Motherboard: Asus A7S8X-MX.

The bios has probably been reset.

Check in the bios if the cpu multiplier and FSB is correct.
The multiplier should be 12 and FSB should be 333mhz.

I'd also say update the BIOS and CPU-Z. The last time I had a similar problem, it was due to them being out of date.

As it's a relatively old Motherboard, wouldn't I need to flash it using a Floppy Drive/Disk, I don't have nor do I know anybody with a Floppy :/

Is there another way?
