Simple and quick q, I'm picking up a new car today with no tax on it, can I bring it home and leave it on the drive until Wednesday then get tax from September 1st?
So my instinct of "worth a shot" is probably right?
It's far from leaving the tax on your own car a few days late (in which you get 14 days grace)

No, it says so on the back of the tax reminder.

Of course, no car should be driven on the road without valid tax, your point?

A car can be driven on the road without valid road tax, if it is being taken to and returning from an MOT.
On a kind of similar note I have paid for my tax online like I have done for a while now and normally it turns up PDQ but due to the Bank Holiday excuse I dont think I will recieve it tomorrow (Heres hoping though!).
I need the car on Wednesday so am I still covered due to the fact I have paid and I am awaiting delivery of the new disc?
Yeah you are I am in the same situation.
