So I need to send back my memory because it hasn't worked properly since I got it. But I've been stalling because I don't want to go without memory and therefore without a computer. But seeing as I've been using the faulty memory for 11 months, I think I should do something about it. It detects 6gb as 4gb sometimes and it refuses to runs at full speed.

Ideally I'd buy the same memory again and then when I get the replacement I can just double up, and have 12GB instead of 6GB. Only nowhere sells it any more, so I'd have to buy different memory. The timings on the faulty memory is 6-7-6-18 a 1600MHz and I can't find any that matches that.

Perhaps I should just buy slower memory, RMA the faulty stuff then sell the replacements on eBay.

Any suggestions?

Hi Mate

I RMA'd some Tridents after having the same issues, missing memory, i ended up trying new boards, proccessors ect but in the end it was down to the sticks of memory. bought my tridents from ebay at a very low price and had no receipt for them. Logged an RMA on G-Skill site and sent them recorded delivery to the far east. within 10 days i had been sent a replacement tripple pack and havent looked back, not had one issue with missing mem and G-skill RMA process was first rate, so i would say do it. Have just bought another tripple pack and am now at 12gig 1600 20-7-7-7 running like a dream.
