Basket check for new Gaming / Photoshop rig please

Not sure I follow.

The M.2 is the onboard connector near the PCI-E slots, you are not fitting one of these (you can later).

You will use any of the SATAIII ports that are on the side.

It has 6 of those that I see.

Doh here's where I need to quickly delete that post and pretend it never happened. Of course. For some reason I had it in my head that those ports were external, even though they are clearly on the opposite side to the I/O ports. How embarrassing! You wouldn't believe I've built about 5 PCs in the past for myself and other people. ;)

Pretty much done but not sure on the second Data Hard drive which I'm going to use to store all my documents / pictures etc leaving the SSD free for OS / Programs and Games etc.

I was looking at that WD Green but just realised it's not 7200.

I'm looking at an HGST IDK Deskstar 3TB which is listed as a NAS drive. Is this still ok to use on a desktop in this way?

That looks tidy, you happy with it? played much yet?

Took a while to do and still have some software to sort out tomorrow night.

Not played any games on it yet, installed Elite Dangerous in readiness. Will give that a go tomorrow.

Used Lightroom and feels a bit zippier in handling the images than my last one. Not really pushed it much yet though.

The best bit is I achieved my aim of being super quiet. I left the PSU on ECO mode and everything is barely audible. Will be interesting to see how it sounds when under load in game, but overall very pleased.

Thanks again. :)

Oh and good call on the motherboard. Didn't realise it had lighting on it which matches the memory perfectly. :)

Quality cooler, it may cost £50+ and have a beige+brown rubber cornered fan, but its quality, even the box it comes in is "engineered"
