Injury due to council negligence

Was out for my morning run today when I caught my foot in a metal loop sticking out of the ground along a recently redeveloped verge. I have various cuts, bruises and a swollen knee after I went crashing to the ground. My mobile phone also has a few marks but is relatively unscathed surprisingly.

I have already sent an email of complaint to the local council along with some pictures of the offending metal wire loop and my injuries.

Should I be looking to take this any further?

It was a thin wire loop embedded in the ground. No way I could have seen it.

Was it on a public right of way? Pavement, footpath, etc...

OP, I think as you only sustained minor injuries that not much will come of it unfortunately. Don't think you would be entitled to any compensation or anything.

Although seriously that does sound like they are the ones responsible.

And if there is lasting damage to my knee? That's OK is it?
