Which AMD APU? A8-6600K vs. A10 7700K

There is no real point in getting an A8 6600K when an A8 7600 or A8 7650K cost around the same.

I'd get the 7700k, although you can find the 5800k for a good price at the moment, and it's worth a look.

Wouldn't it be better to go with a Kaveri based one even if it is just for the potential HSA benefits in software like Libre Office?

Definitely agree, but the 6*00 series really don't offer anything over the 5*00 series.
7 series is where you want to be!

screen size makes the difference.
I've built with both; 7700k and 6600k; got 6600k clocked at 4.2ghz; *any higher and would need a better cooler* it keeps up with 7700k at stock.
both game on 1440 by 900 screens. mmos; LoL; 6600k starting to slow down a little in some games; but everyday use its fine.
Honestly I'd go with 7700k though; get a little more life out it.
