I'm going to collect some friends from Gatwick next weekend. We also want to grab a quick bite to eat before the return journey. I've never parked there so I don't really know what's available, so I checked the website and the cheapest is £19 for 2 hours! Surely there's something cheaper there? I'd appreciate any help!

Gatwick parking is really expensive and there aren't many sit-down food options landside (a spoons and Giraffe at South, nothing North?). The Sofitel at North might be able to offer you parking if you book a table at one of their restaurants perhaps?

I'd be tempted to stop somewhere else en route.

Yep most of the decent places to eat are after security and they're not that good anyway. You'll find places of the same standard in a motorway service station within half an hour - by the time you park up you won't even save any time
