I have this on pre-order, used to love the old games and for £27 I don't think you can go wrong with this.

Can someone clarify how close this would be to the original game? Only just played it so thinking that its best if I wait a while before I get it in case it is very much a remake.

Leaving it a while is probably best in that case, reviews seem to suggest it retains a lot of the original game with some new stuff thrown in and of course, entirely revamped gameplay and visuals.
I've never played any of the PS2 R&C games so I'm really looking forward to this one. Always did intend to get the HD collection on PS3 but never got round to it.

I so badly want to play this, but cannot justify the purchase of the ps4 for it

It seems to be as good as the original so I would - presume its also been made a bit more up-to-date with regards to moveset/UI (for example original uses triangle for back in menu - kinda annoying at times
