Mister Spex?

I think you're getting trolled a bit, don't worry. I'd be confident they're legit. If they were fake they'd be £20 or something and you'd be able to tell.

I've spent more on sunglasses than I'd be happy to admit over the years (mostly Oakleys) but I managed to curb the spending, however I now blame you if it starts up again for posting that link ;)

The best way of selling fakes on the internet is to do them only slightly cheaper than the genuine ones. That way everybody thinks they must be genuine.........

and also some bad online reviews on them as follows

FAKE! I just had my order delivered and while the packaging is genuine, it had been tampered with. Once I opened I could see why - the glasses were complete fakes. Not even Oakley written on them. If you check some TrustPilot reviews you'll see that they have a scam where they ship cheap or fake substitutions, then when you send them back the onus is on you to prove that the cheap ones are the ones they sent you - that YOU didn't substitute them. I feel sick that I have fallen for such a scam and have now purchased from a reputable source.

It's only a road I went down once to be fair, with a pair of nike trainers. The quality wasn't up to much and the shoes didn't last long but they were only £20 compared to £130.
When I was clearing out some old bookmarks I had a quick look (maybe a year later) and they were selling for £85. Same fakes, much higher price.

All my Oakleys were bought from bike shops. I'm surprised to see the reviews from TP, trouble is you never know what's real and what isn't. Is the review from a competitor in disguise? Are they really fakes? Do most people not notice?

I would always advise doing research before any purchase.

Sounds like something tampered with in transit? I've also checked TrustPilot, and while most of the reviews are in German so I'm relying on Google Translate, so far I've only found 1 review claiming they are fakes, and they appear to be the same person you posted.

So 1 claim of fakes so far.

(There are piles of complaints about poor customer service though).

I still stand that all authorised rayban resellers are meant to have a certificate and you can check then number on raybans sight.

I cant find one anywhere for this website.

Its like GHD. There are loads of sites selling fake ones for only £20 less than the genuine ones.

So you think a business with over £60 million in equity funding founded in 2007 is selling fake £3 designer glasses........ o k a y...

I am just suspicious of any company not carrying the right proof that they are selling genuine stuff.

I have had fake stuff from amazon and thats as in supplied by amazon not a third party. How big are they by comparison?

There is so much high quality fake stuff around especially in the slightly cheaper than the genuine item, why take the risk?

By some from any of the 100s/1000s of authorized outlets where you have a guarantee that they are genuine.

Although I will admit that an outlet that big would be unlikely to be fake. It would help if they posted their certified seller number though.,

Well if they are selling £3 glasses for £80 then it would explain that £60m ;)

I took the risk being fully prepared to send them back. As I said they are indistinguishable from a genuine pair and passed every test I could find to check they were legit. So either they are real, or they are an incredibly good quality fake. But in the end I saved myself £40 and am happy with them.

Could it be that people think there are so many fakes about because they imediately dismiss anything priced slightly lower than retail as a fake? Plenty of people (you not included) have categorically decided these are fakes based on price alone.

Not on price alone. The fact they have no authorized stockist certs from any of the major brands, The whole point of the manufacturers doing that was to make it easy to check if a site was selling genuine items or not.

Just odd that one of the biggest online glasses company either hasnt bothered or doesnt posting showing the certs. Thats what got my alarm bells ringing.

I bought some online discounted oakleys last year at a great discount in the sale but made sure the site was an authorised seller. Got them half price.

Just because your not an authorised stockist doesn't mean they aren't genuine.

It increases the chances yes, but its not a 100% guarantee they are fake. I expect the certification probably costs money and some people just don't bother.

Their About Us page does show the logos, but doesn't list the numbers (not that this helps their case :p).

True, but with them not been an authorized stockist means they are not 100% guaranteed to be real ;)
