New Install after buying new from OCUK

Hello guys. I hope you could help answer my question as Im struggling with an answer from the Microsoft site.

Ive just purchased a new system from OCUK and used my old Ssd as the boot drive and was hoping that Windows 10 would boot alas it didnt and I had to reinstall with Windows 7

Now the free grace period is over does anyone know if im still able to download and use my old 7 key as I had already updated whilst it was free ? Will microsoft log the keys used and allow them to be re used ?

Just install Windows 10 using the media creation tool:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10

You'll want to use your Windows 7 key during the setup. It should activate but you may need to manually activate via phone as the activation is tied to the motherboard ID. Obviously this is now different with a new build but you should be able to get around it.
