New rig or upgrade?

I'm not too updated with current hardware, last time I read up on anything was 2 years ago when I bought this rig. I'm not sure if I should sell my current rig and add extra cash to buy a new rig, or just upgrade.

A couple of questions I have:
no price checks outside of MM - your last thread was deleted because of this
If I were top upgrade what should I upgrade/keep?
Would you upgrade or replace the rig?

I play games such as: Total war/Eve online/Overwatch/Arma/Battlefield. It doesn't get used for much else.

New GPU would give you the biggest bang for buck if you wanted to upgrade.

What GPU would I be looking at for a noticeable difference?

I would personally get a fast SSD and Oc the cpu. If you're only at 1080p, the 290 is still a fine card; I'd be tempted to hang onto it until Vega/1080ti, just to see if they shake prices up.

I'd say a 1060 or 480 wouldn't be much of a jump up from your 290. so if you *had* to upgrade your GPU now, I'd look at nothing less than the 1070's, unless you could get a bargain on a fury x.

Thanks for the advice, I'll keep the rig and upgrade the SSD and GPU. I'm currently running 2x 1080 monitors, would the 1070 support those with an additional 1440?

In the spirit of upgrading I'm tempted to get a 1440 monitor to observe my new GPU's performance with =].
