Might be a bit of a stupid question but I'm about to build my first PC and one of the parts I was going to order has gone out of stock.

This SSD: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/cruc...lid-state-drive-ct525mx300ssd1-hd-063-cr.html

I've looked for a replacement and found this: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/cruc...lid-state-drive-ct525mx300ssd4-hd-067-cr.html

I don't get what the difference is, apart from that the 2nd one is M.2.

Isn't that faster? If so why are they exactly the same price?

Thanks.

Make sure your mobo has an m2 slot (usually located near the gpu slot, most do these days).
Benchmarks show they are quicker but whether you notice or not is another matter.

I intend to get one at some point but only because it will remove a cable from my rig.
At the same price you may as well if you can.

I think they make use one or two of the sata ports (defaults to m2 so technically reduces the number if effective sata slots you have even though you have nothing plugged into them).
Am sure someone can confirm either way.
