Hello all :)

I currently have the following:

i5 3570k
Gigabyte Motherboard (can't remember which)
16Gb Ram
HD6850
250Gb SSD
Storage hard drives
600W PSU

It's just over 5 years old now and at the time, I wasn't playing many games but as my son is getting older, we are both playing more games.

Would it be better to get another graphics card (and probably PSU) or start fresh?

If starting fresh, would be about a £1000 budget. I've had a quick look and Intel have too much choice between the sockets at the moment, so not sure what to go for to last as long as possible.

Graphics wise, I don't need games to run on max settings but rather a mix between smooth play and looking good. I use my TV, so max of 1080p.

Thank you :)

Recommend new GPU and keep going/see how it goes. GTX 1050Ti 4GB or GTX 1060 6GB would be a big upgrade from the HD6850. CPU is still okay.

See if you can find out the PSU model.

Can just carry PSU (and GPU if still doing the business) through to a fresh new build in a couple years' time or so.

If you don't need to run max settings then that eliminates something like a GTX 1070. The level of performance you want for 1080p is probably somewhere between 1050Ti and 1060/RX 580.
