Keller left with everything in place.
Raja's leaving just reeks of disfunction.
Meh,we don't know anything TBF - its going to be another lot of enthusiasts getting panicky, etc. People said the same thing that Ryzen was a failure, etc since "the main design chap"(he wasn't the only one IIRC) had left before it was released and it was another Faildozer.
Don't believe me:

Look at all the people going "Oh AMD",RIP,etc.
Having both CPU and GPU for selling them to consoles is likely what kept AMD floating for many years.Wow, suspected it just still a shock really. Wonder if this has anything to do with Apple starting to design their own GPU's...
Glad I chose the Ti+Gsync route now! Won't be long til RTG is sold off.

I can't see this being the only change if it really isn't just a 'personal decision', which we're all assuming it isn't.

Without those console APU sales giving some steady cashflow AMD would have had lot harder times to survive.
Analysis
Our sources tell us that Lisa Su, AMD CEO, will continue to oversee RTG for the foreseeable future. AMD appreciates that such an important role cannot be the sole domain of the CEO, and to this end is actively searching for a successor to Raja. We expect the appointment to be made within a few months.
AMD is putting additional resources behind the RTG team moving forwards, we're informed, with the view of making the graphics arm of the company bigger and better.
The firm had no comment to make on whether Raja's departure has any meaningful impact on Navi, the next GPU architecture, and we take this to mean that, as far as the company is concerned, it is business as usual. And business means pushing on with new ventures such as the semi-custom Radeons for Intel H-series CPUs, announced just yesterday.
Personal Take
After having personally known Raja for well over 10 years, I found him to be thoroughly amenable, wickedly smart and more honest and open than most C-level executives at leading technology firms. He has a determined passion and excitement for graphics, so I fully expect to see him pop up at a technology company sooner rather than later.
Truly clueless. AMD were in infinitely worse shape when Lisa Su took over. She's done amazingly well to turn them around to the degree that she has. If things had carried on as there were, there probably wouldn't be an AMD right now. At least not an independent one.Now all they need do is get rid of that useless "B" in charge and save the company more losses.
Clever man, I for sure will buy G-Sync next time! Maybe Navi will be decent, if it beats a 1080ti for a decent price then it might be okay as you can see with my rig keeping at the cutting edge isn't really my thing, the costs are stupid imo at leastAfter seeing what Vega turned out to be and now this, I cannot see AMD being competitive in the GPU space any time soon.
Happy I went G-Sync![]()
