Anyone having any issues in FC5 with Sli? I'm sure my system was performing better in the past. When I run the inbuilt benchmark with latest drivers and latest FC5 patch my 1070 Ti sli system is averaging 84FPS at 1440P using the Ultra settings.
I've tried disabling Sli and I get 73 FPS, same settings.
I tried re-installing drivers but still the same.
I thought scaling was meant to be okay in FC5?

I know that with SLI enabled my system crashes in coop mode when opening the map and various other things, but in single play mode it doesnt do it.
Steam forums say loads of poeple have the same issue.

As for performance - not had any probs.

Thanks. I managed to get a bit more out of them, another 5 FPS, by switching to game mode (I'm using a TR1950X). Both GPU's don't go above 75% usage and even that's the peak.
Just ran another bench(TimeSpy) and through most of it both GPU's are 100% utilised so I just assume FC5 is not optimised for Sli at 1440P. I saw a video earlier where someone was hitting 98% on both, hence my query, but think they might have been at 4K.

Have the same issue with SLI 1070's, usage rarely peaks above 70% on each card and overall frame improvement is minimal, fairly sure when I used dsr to shift more load to the gpus the load increased with it though I'm no where near my rig to check :)

I've just tested the benchmark with 980 ti SLI (398.11 drivers) and I'm getting similar results -
1440p single card 66 FPS
1440p SLI 72
4k single 36
4k SLI 42

I'm pretty sure I was getting much better scaling when I played the game not long after the release.

When I had SLI 1080s most game i would get and a 10-20% increase in FPS, I can remember GTAV was a very few games that took advatage of SLI

Fall out 4 gave me less frames, Witcher 3 wasn't that great either, this was with my 2 980ti's 1080s, so I rage I got rid of them and stuck with just ONE 1080ti

lolz I get more FPS in some games than I did with SLI

Managed to get mine a bit better but still only 22.7% improvement with Sli(over single). Sli in Ryzen game mode (just using one of the two CPU's in the 1950) I get 75 FPS with one card and 92 FPS with two. Not bothered touching the DSR stuff.
Interestingly for me that's about 10% improvement using game mode and Sli rather than all 16 cores.
Just ran it a few more times
16 Cores - Single card = 73FPS, Sli 82FPS (12.3% difference).
8 Cores - single card = 75FPS, Sli 92FPS (22.7% difference).
So Sli difference between using 16 cores and 8 cores is 12%!

I get an average of 90 at 1080P in that benchmark and about 80% of the run has the GPU in the high 80's to low 90's %, its a CPU bottleneck in my case.

What CPU do you have? because looking at reviews even Intel's latest and greatest don't get much more than that on 1080TI's.

yeah, shame really. 3D mark shows the potential if it's put to good use (my system in top 2% with sli, top 78% if only one card) and the 3D mark overall score was more than double with 2 cards than with one. 13300 vs 6600 I think. I only did one run of each though so probably just double.

1950X.
As above, it's actually better to run it in game mode especially with Sli. Sli in this one game at least peforms much better with just 8 cores in use. With a single card the card is maxed out whether 8 or 16 cores in use so the difference is much smaller (about 2 FPS).
Interesting few hours fiddling anyway :D

Thanks for that. I just ran at same settings as you with one GPU and got 82 min, 98 average and 117 max. That's running with the single CPU. Note that the refresh rate Im using is 60 (an old Dell 2711) and both the CPU and GPu are stock clocks.

Also just tried Sli at 1080P with the processor in Game mode (8 cores) and the score was exactly the same as single GPU :D.
if I had the time, and I'm out of time for this weekend, I'd transfer both to my 6700K 4.5 system to try them.
Not really gaming much atm so might be tempted to either sell a card or use one in the other system. Only playing FC5 and Prey atm. Prey isn't taxing on sli either.

I'm calling CPU bottleneck, at least in my case.

4770K @ 4.6ghz
16GB DDR3 2400mhz
2 x GTX1070 @ 2000mhz

Ultra pre-set

GPU utilization trends - rough figures
1080p = 60%
1440p = 67%
4K = 87%
5K = 91%

It does look like it in your case although I would have thought 4k+ would have been 100% utilisation?

Then you were doing something wrong because when I had a 970 SLI , my frame rates were nearly doubled and were the equal, or slightly faster, of a single 980Ti in those games you mentioned as well as BF4, Project Cars, FC4 and numerous others...

It's interesting because a couple of us seem to think we've had better results before either the latest FC5 update or NV update.
Anyway, and this is off topic, but I've split my cards now and stuck one in an "old" 6700K over clocked to 4.5. Just out of interest I ran the FC5 bench at 1440P using ultra settings and there was just 2 FPS in it - 73FPS for the 1950 running stock, and 75FPS average for the 6700K based system. Note that the 1950X was not in game mode, if it were, it would be exactly the same as the 6700K system (as posted above somewhere - 75FPS). Will see if I can try SLi in the 6700K system if I can find time (and be bothered :)) over the next few days. I doubt there will be much difference between the two systems.
