Is there a time limit on porting a number?

Bit of a strange one, but bear with me.

I have an existing Vodafone contract that's around 4 months old. I have a different number that I want to port across. My question is can I still do that all this time after taking the contract out, or is there some sort of time limit on when I can ask them to replace the existing number with one from elsewhere?

Cheers. I did find that but I’m always sceptical of posts on forums like that. I trust everyone here more.
