@String Well nothing wrong with playing either or both. From what I understand, 2 was improved overall but 1 might still be enjoyable. I haven't actually played it...:o.

https://www.fanatical.com/en/collections/sci-fi - Fanatical currently have a sci-fi sale on, some pretty good games in the sale. I can recommend Homeworld Remastered Collection, good game and a pretty easy tutorial to follow. I've been tempted by some of the X's games for a while but haven't bought any of them yet.

Can I slightly thread hijack?

I'm also looking for an entry into the strategy world and really prefer turn based. Not into space games really so anything historical would be great.

Tried Crusader Kings recently but didn't really understand the point of it.

Battletech, Xcom 1 & 2 (not historic but great games), Civ 5 or Civ 6. I haven't played Crusader Kings but if it's anything like Total War, then it is part turn based and part real time when in battles?

Thanks both. I've always avoided the Civ series as expected it to be overly complicated.

Might give it a go this weekend then.
