2080 worth it on 1080?

Going from a GTX 1080 to a 2080 Ti felt underwhelming for the money so I think a 1070 to a 2080 would give you even less. CES is less than a month away, we should hear about new 7nm products there.

Define significant? I looked benchmarks and it looks like at most 30%? I run 240hz in Overwatch too but i use DSR to do that at 4K and i get 170fps on a 1080.

30% is complete garbage as an upgrade it is for me unthinkable unless you get 50%. And no amount of Raytracing (useless) or AI (DSR is better) makes that worth £650. We are going to have to wait until next year?

Also spending £100s to gain (at most) 30% when you already have over 100fps is a waste of money. You won't even see a difference.

Went from a 1080 to 2080Ti. At 3440x1440, there's not a huge amount of visual difference if you have a gsync monitor, but in VR the 2080Ti easily stomps all over the 1080.

Unfortunately I've been through two lemon 2080Ti's already and now gone back to my 1080s in SLI. I'd say spend your money on a decent 1440 or ultrawide monitor instead - it'll give you far more enjoyment and last a lot longer.
