Hi all,

I'm trying to help a friend out, he is a very casual gamer - like Train Sim World, Cities Skyline, FSX etc.. so probably not the most demanding games. But his current PC is struggling , I was trying to run CoD MW2 on it and it was bad, and that's 9 years old..

No huge requirements really, need 2 HDMI ports, 8GB at least of RAM (can maybe re-use the 8 from his machine to get 16), an SSD would be good for the OS (128GB is fine really, though 256 could work also). Don't need any other hard drive. Not exactly concerned about what the case looks like... he does some light video editing work from time to time too.

I haven't a clue really now but imagine £500 is more than enough. If there's some pre-built machines (excluding Windows) then great, but can also build it if it works out much cheaper...

Thanks!

basically similar to orbitalwalsh's spec with a step up in most places (hence slightly more expensive - might be worth it, if can spare the extra £90)
(better board, 16gb ram, massively better gpu, arguably better case)

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £614.59 (includes shipping: £11.70)
