Could some help me out with thermal pad placement on Vega 64?

I have a reference Vega 64 and a Bykski water block and i'm not 100% sure if i'm meant to put thermal pads in certain places.

The instructions can be found here but the pictures they use dont match up perfectly with the reference PCB.

Here's what i've done so far.

I'm not sure if i'm mean to put pads on the components i've highlighted in red. On the right hand side you can see i've put three strips of pads, one of them covers the same things as those highlighted in red. Again, i'm not sure if that's correct.

The instructions for the EK block would suggest that I should cover the things in red but the instructions for the Watercool Heatkiller would suggest they you dont.

My concern is that if i put pads on things that shouldn't have them the block would fit properly.

This is the first time i've ever tried fitting a water block so i guess i'm being overly cautious.

Thanks

If in doubt I'd stick them on. Just made sure the block isn't in the way. If it doens' help or they aren't supposed to be on there, then just take them off.

Can always test good contact with them on. Bit of paste on the GPU chip then place the block on.

This is proving to much harder work than i anticipated. Excuse the poor quality of the picture but after screwing everything together you can see that it's not fitting together flush and the PCB actually looks bent. It's almost impossible to see in the photo but the block isn't making contacted with the thermal pads mosfets to the right of the GPU die.

So i took everything apart and removed all the thermal pads and then placed the block on the card to see how it looks. It fits perfectly and what i discovered is that the block makes direct contact with the things in blue but does not make direct contact with the thing in red. Again, sorry for the shoddy camera work.

So unless i'm mistaken the things in blue dont need thermal pads and the things in red do, right? Presumably having pads on the things in blue is what was stopping the block sitting flush to the card.
