NK will literally shoot people trying to leave without permission, or take it out on their family members if they do manage to escape. Not quite the same

So this will stop precisely none of them. Even if you banned travel to Turkey and Syria you could go through x,y,z until you reach your destination.

This is why I suggested earlier that where people chose to travel "Too" should not be generally restricted.

It is where they have returned "from" that should be placed under scrutiny.

And yes, there are some parts of the world whereby should you wish to return from them to the UK you should have to have a damn good explanation ready as to why you traveled there and what you did there and should those explanations prove unsatisfactory there will be consequences (Up to and including withdrawal of citizenship)
