Evening all

I built a pc recently for my brother in laws son, aged 11.

He has started using it for school work, and had the trial of MS office which has now expired.

Anything similar to this thats a little more kid friendly, he has got open office but i dont think that comes with a publisher feature. Scribus also seems very complex compared with publisher.

Is it better long term to just fork out the fee for the MS Office pack or 365 subscription ? as hes used to using it at school etc

Any help really appreciated as this is not one of my good area's =D

If his school has Office 365 he may be able to download an installation from them, get him to go to office.com and try to login with his school email and network password. Some schools are not very well organised so he may have to hang on until secondary.
