Garage lighting ideas?

I just owned up to this one, told the wife a chap is coming Thursday to survey for us, at least she uses the garage as well and doesn't like being cold :)

Ours is accessed only via exterior, and no freezers, or major tech in there that the missus needs; it was a harder sell. I used inheritance, so it was my cash to do as I saw fit... (brave gamble, but it worked!).

As luck/fate would have it one of the 1.5m fluorescent tubes died over the weekend. Replaced starter, didnt fix it so thought bugger it. Went to Screwfix and grabbed a replacement LED bulb/ballast:
https://www.screwfix.com/p/philips-g13-t8-led-tube-2000lm-20w-1500mm/6280v?_requestid=482565

Fitted in about 3 minutes, fired up first time and cant fault it. Good even light, instant on and brighter than the previous (old, tired) bulb by quite some margin.

Decided against a full unit replacement, as units are already fitted and this way its a simple swap rather than faffing about with wiring up a ladder.

Not gonna rush and do the rest, as and when they fail/annoy me they will get replaced.. 5x 1.5m and 3x 1.2m left (yes, garage has LOTS of light... its a large double, 6m x 5m, and I do lots of work out there so needs it)

Finally down to the last room to DIY...the garage. Just insulating the roof before I board/plaster it.

Need to decide on lighting. It’s 6mx5m.

I am torn between LED batten and LED panel. Which would be best?

Batten, see my earlier post, I have 1 of those in mine and 1 normal fitting and its more then enough. I would replace the normal fitting with a second but just haven't gotten round to it.

I'm interested in phasing out my fluorescent tubes - however I notice that many people say that the LED tubes/battens they replaced their fluorescent lights with are brighter, but for the most part the LED tubes seem to have less (sometimes significantly) Lumen ratings than their fluorescent counterparts.

So for instance, my battens have 2 x 52W 5200lm tubes in them and it's pretty tough to find any comparable options, especially with higher outputs.

Is there a reason for this? Or is it because i'm at the higher end, and so the efficiencies diminish? Or should I look to add another batten?

My main issues are having enough light in the garage (especially when working on the cars) and the colour temperature of the light (current is a bit more yellow than i'd like).

I've had these in my garage for a couple of years now

Replaced 2 double tube fixings with two of these. Each LED batten is rated at just under 10k lumens - the 6ft version is just over so close to your fluorescent tubes.

+1 on the JCC fittings 10 year warranty and can get an extra 5% discount code for https://www.electrical2go.co.uk "forum1st"

I used the same fittings and found the twin 6ft were overpriced for only an extra few lumens, best price vs lumens were the twin 4ft 55w if i remember right - i used 10 for my garage and its bright as daylight in there with the door closed

Using more lower power fitting vs less higher powered ones lets you get a better spread and reduce or eliminate shadows - i spaced mine around the edge of the garage approx 1m from the walls - dont get any darks spots or shadows - used relux light design software to work out the spacing

Cant get image to work properly :( Link will have to do

Ps LEDs do have a high inrush current - i found having all 10 on 1 switch tripped the 6A RCBO so i split them 5 each across 2 switches

These have slightly higher rating than your current tubes, just fitted one to my fathers garage it gives off a phenomenal amount of light
