The important part is this... The dyno is a DynoDynamics rolling road, but it is running Dyno Developments software. This means there are apparently some limitations with cars with Haldex or similar.

Therefore please can you all ensure you look into things like dyno modes for your car, or ways of locking/disabling Haldex if possible. This will save time, hassle, and more importantly upset, on the day.

If you are unsure for whatever reason, please let me know and I will reach out to TDR and/or Dyno Developments for confirmation on whether or not your car will run without issue.

Any information on how best to run the Volvo V70R would be great. It has a Haldex system I believe and honestly I am unsure my old man would know how to lock the Haldex.

Edit: Just spoken to the old man and unless there is a way he can run without touching or changing anything with the car he will not be running the V70R. He is happy to find out if this is possible before pulling out though.

Regardless of if he runs or not mine will still be ran and he will bring it and enjoy the day.

Usually involves pulling the Haldex fuse or physically unplugging the electrical connector going into the diff.

It can most likely be disabled via diagnostics tools, Focus RS is Haldex and I know for certain on those you can. Not familiar enough with Volvo to say whether it's possible or not

Found this in another forum posted by a tuner that specialises in vag cars. If true it all may be ok?

"You don't need a mechanically linked dyno for 4wd haldex, but you do need a speed as opposed to load controlled dyno.

A lot of dynos are load controlled in that they alter the braking force depending on load applied. A speed controlled dyno will aim for a set acceleration rate and vary the load on each axle to ensure they are turning at the same speed. In this case they dyno will be braking the rear axle at a much much lower rate than the front.

Dyno Dynamics/Developments is an example of a speed controlled dyno."

No need to apologise.

**Right some important information which you all need to look into/action.**

Today I visited TDR to talk a few things over (more on this to follow). The first thing is the number of cars is definitely capped at 15 and it is unlikely to change on the day.

I will happily refund anyone who has paid so far if it is deemed that their car will not run successfully for whatever reason prior to the day.

Thanks all.

I'm going to have to pull out of the dyno run, I cannot run my car with Haldex disabled as the rear diff with overheat and damage the Haldex clutches :( I'll still come and watch tho :D

Ok guys, I sent the below list of cars to Dyno Developments for comment:

Subaru WRX STi
Lamborghini Gallardo E Gear
Audi TTRS
Volvo V70R
Merc C43
Nissan Pulsar GTi-R
Mitsubishi GTO

The reply was "They should be fine, unsure about the Gallardo. They don't often go on a dyno".

So it's at this point, if you've paid and now don't want to risk running, ask me for a refund and I'll happily provide one.

Otherwise this is the current list with the reserves below it. If you are a runner and are yet to pay, and still wish to run, please get in touch to pay me by Thursday 10th October this week. After this all slots will be opened firstly to the reserves, then to beyond OcUK.

Thanks dude, I think I'm going to pull out, while I would like to run, TDR and now dyno developments responses to my car are frankly awful, do they not know their own equipment?

Ultimately it seems they are running a non-linked setup meaning the front rollers will have to be powered from the viscous coupling in my car transferring power due to the front wheels to keep them moving at the same rate, which aisde from the mechanical strain put on the car also means extra drivetrain losses on the reading. I would rather wait until we get a place with a Maha setup or at least a linked dyno.

I think a few other people here with AWD cars might also be in the same boat in thinking the same thing, which while I will still turn up to this event if it goes ahead, I wouldnt be against postponing it until RE performance get their dyno installed and at least then we wont have any of these issues on if the dyno can run the cars without causing issues.

Just spoken to the old man and he is still working out what he wants to do. Soon as I know I will let you know, but I have asked to be told in the next few days to allow you to rearrange if need be.

Yeah I'm going to pull out of the dyno run, I'll still come as a spectator but speaking to a few posters on AMG forums and it seems non-linked dynos aren't great for AWD cars and can cause a lot of strain. Others have said it's fine but I'm not really up for chancing it. Sorry to drop out late but been trying to get a definitive answer and there just isn't one, even the dyno places response of "they should be fine", doesn't fill me with confidence :p
