Can you post your impressions regarding heat and noise when you get it running? Eyeballing the same card:)

it's a solid card and hovers around 60 odd degrees playing rdr2 (only thing i've played today) and its really, really quiet. pretty happy with it. night and day difference between this and my reference 64 :D

So is the gaming oc the same as the gaming oc 3x? Is it the same fan? I ask as I was looking at the gaming oc and it looked to get great reviews.

yeah it's the same card i think. part number of mine if it helps GV-N207SGAMING OC-8GC.

Despite what's been said already it is NOT exactly the same card.

The OC version (non 3X) has a USC port. The OC 3X version which is what OCUK are selling does NOT.

I bought the 3X version that was sold to me as the OC version, so I was annoyed when I realised it didn't have a USB C slot. Now OCUK have correctly changed it to state that it is the X3 version. Other than that difference they're almost the same but even have a slightly different shroud.

On the basis that I wanted a USB C slot I've been offered a full refund - however, it's that good a card that I'm thinking of keeping it anyway.

The benefit of USB C on card is for single cable VR - if you want VR I wouldn't recommend it or any 2070 supers without USC C which is most of them.

However it's still fine for double cable VR.

Two concerns with that - size and weight. I don’t think I have enough room to install the bracket as I have a sound card

I have a rift CV1 - so am used to multi-cable vr

In that case it's likely still a great card for your purposes, I've never even tried VR but wanted to be future proof, I'm only really interested in Half Life Alyx as somewhat of a forced VR experience, if I can do it cheaply with a multi cable VR I might still keep the 3X version myself. I think the 4 year warranty likely still beats not having USB C if you're a multi cable VR user.
