Renting in Scotland when retired

I am now fully retired and have taken my retirement in a lump sum and am looking to rent a property, so my problem is I am unsure what information to pass on to the landlord (a company that owns the property in question) to show I have the necessary funds available to pay the rent. Previously my employment details were enough, but now? Any ideas how to go about this as in how much information would be needed from my side?

Any help appreciated.

I recently had a similar problem in that nobody would accept my employment contract as it was written in Spanish.

There were two solutions, one was to pay 6 months rent up front, the second was to find a letting agent with common sense who accepted my explanation that I was working for a foreign company but living in the U.K.

Fortunately I was able to go with the second solution, but most agencies I spoke to simply wanted 6 months up front to satisfy their credit checks.
