How is it possible for the population to increase and tax increases but public services to decrease?
Central govt have cut local govt funding.

Their plan is for local govt to be completely self-sufficient and receive *no* money from central govt.

Local govt pays for social care.

What is central govt doing with the extra money? HS2, bungs for their mates, etc.

Why? Because Great Britain is addicted to rising house prices?

It's not just Britain though.

House prices all over the world have been increasing.

For example in Richmond, Vancouver, BC. You can't get a detached home for less than a million dollars. If you do it's usually a tear down and re-build job.

Townhouses are increasing in price by $40K a year.

You could make more than the average UK salary by just buying a few of those, sit on them and sell them on.

Well that's what happens when you let your city be a commodity to Chinese prospectors trying to get their money as far away as possible from their fascist government, it's long past time that housing be made a human right and finally end this stupid, ******** economy by instituting market controls until the situation is resolved. Make it so it's better to build homes than sit on them.

I don't know why people don't know this. But the right to housing is a human right. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Right_to_housing including in the The Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

But you're exactly right. Foreign investment is gigantic problem especially in London (lol who is actually buying all these overpriced luxury flats in Battersea and other such developments), but it's also driven by BTL. The more people make money with BTL, the more people do it, and the more the prices increases. It's a never-ending cycle. There's houses near me that over a 10yr period made approximately £90k/year
