most call them AIO and they are "all in one" units. The term fits.

had a rover V8 for years with no issues. alu block, cast heads and copper rad.

there not all in one as they dont cool CPU and GPU + memory + ssd - hence all in one cooling solution of a desktop... preinstalled and fitted QDC modules to add on the fly to a loop is AIO :)
Ever Meet EKWB or Alphacool staff and ask them about other AIO products and they'll give the same grilling above

MAWT in a car is different to a PC water cooled system. Along with operation temps ( AIO/CLC has 95% greater chance of MIC) as car water systems are over standard 30c in PC set ups etc .

If i recall a car pump/engine has about 5mm of corrosion allowance , the mass/surface area of them is quite large compared to the Fins used on the cold Plate of a AIO/CLC which can be under 1mm think...

and then you've got the liquid inside. Mayhems if you wanted to could drink it and be okay-ish . Car cooling fluid... drink that and you'll be seriously ill. One is at the high extreme of liquid material to prevent great corrosion loss . Corrosion is what i do for a living > Oil platform lifespan

It happens . easy google and you'll find issues . Specially when People top up Coolent with TAP WATER instead of deionised water, Distilled is technically the best and most CLC should use it . Creep/microorganisms can be god aweful - specially on oil Platforms

The FIRST thing to go in Water Pump !!!!!! Had Renault Twingo Sports with Aluminum Alloy Engine Block and Aluminum Radiator . Quick google on Galvanic corrosion and you'll see Aluminum alloy is the WORST with any Metal . Engine Head and Inlet Manifold was Aluminum .

Cast Iron and Aluminum are closer together then Aluminum and Copper , so less reaction etc etc

CLC and AIO are different in terminology - ask any vendor rep that makers water kit. AIO were defined as being able to be cool CPU along with GPU in a Prebuilt kit or added . CLC is closed loop and takes modding . Custom loop is 100% up to the user . Alphacool and ekwb do not advertise their kits as CLC but AIO, asetek advertise as CLC . takes a few tech sites to use AIO on a product and has stuck since . Custom Hardline is CLC as once its done its closed loop- but we still define it as Custom loop.

Is most of this relevant? People are not topping up a CLC at all, so advise on tap water vs DI water is irrelevant.

"Creep/microorganisms can be god aweful - specially on oil Platforms"... Are you referring to people running oil-filled cooling loops?

"Cast Iron and Aluminum are closer together then Aluminum and Copper , so less reaction etc etc"... which PC coolers use cast iron? Relevant?
