is it gonna be this expensive or will it ever come down in price? i want to a mobo that can work on ryzen gen2, current gen and upcoming gen. at the moment i have a b450 MATX mobo for use in bench testing but i want to move to itx and i don't want B450 ITX mobo because i heard once you upgrade the bios to support newer gen then it will disable older-gen CPU from working.

Will X570 itx boards down in price? Maybe a little when B550 itx come out. But probably not. There's only 3 itx boards and they have all held their prices since they were released.

If you want cheap ITX and long lasting then wait till the A520 is launched in the next few months. Fair to assume there will be some ITX boards as there were for A320.

I wouldn't choose X570 even if X570 is half price of B550 because I don't want a chipset fan. If someone gifts me a free X570 I would instantly sell it :)

For ITX I would also consider front-panel USB-C connector - one more reason to consider the new B550 ITX boards.

Are they not? Seems a bit strange

Shocked me too, I had to have a look, he's right, only Ryzen 3000 supported at the moment: https://www.gigabyte.com/uk/Motherboard/B550I-AORUS-PRO-AX-rev-10/support#support-cpu

In that case for the OP, the Gigabyte X570 or the ASUS X570, take your pick, both currently out of stock, the Gigabyte is cheaper and would also be my preferred choice, just preference over ASUS.
