A good point was brought up that during Ferrairs cheating engine Merc went big on developing their engines to find what Ferrari where cheating at, and are now that much further ahead now. Ferrari yet again played themselves.

It’s crazy really. Ferrari set a bar by cheating. Mercedes somehow hit the bar without cheating, but at the cost of reliability, but then fixed that too as far as we can tell. Ferrari were then nerfed. It’s an impressive feat.
