Hello,

Sorry if this is a bit of a silly thread, I'm not the best when it comes to motherboards, but I am looking for a new one to match my new build im putting together (Ryzen 9 3900x with a 3080 gfx) and just trying to decide which motherboard to go for.

The first one that I originally had planned to go for is this one:
https://www.overclockers.co.uk/giga...4-x570-chipset-atx-motherboard-mb-57w-gi.html

But then my friend pointed out that this one is on sale:
https://www.overclockers.co.uk/msi-...4-x570-chipset-atx-motherboard-mb-34g-ms.html

Are the MSI one more worth it? from most I can see it just that it contains an onboard wifi part, which is a nice thing to have, but not 100% needed for me at the moment, but its a nice to have.

So is there something else I should be aware of or is it worth to grab the MSI over the Gigabyte one?

All the best

Not much of a friend if he is suggesting the MSI X570 Gaming Edge ;) One of the worst boards you can buy.

The Gigabyte is hands down the better option. The MSI X570 Tomahawk wifi is solid as well if you need wifi.

Hmm that’s some interesting comments! How come the MSI board is bad? Just got a better gut feeling about the Gigabyte one, but dunno why. More pros and cons would be welcome :)

I have a elite board myself with a 3700x I have built 2 other pc's with the elite both with 3600x and all went to plan I built another pc with msi tomahawk but that was a b450 again a really good board the heat sinks on the x570 elite and tomahawk are both excellent and stable boards as someone else mentioned the vrms on the gaming are poor

I had an absolute nightmare with the 570 Tomahawk and 3000 series CPU and had to return it, also a bunch of forgets on the MSI forms experiencing similar issues.

Gamer Nexus recently recommended the B550 Aorus pro (worth a watch to make sure) even over a bunch of X570 boards.

I'd consider something like a B550 tomahawk unless you plan to run 2 PCIe gen 4.0 nvme drives or need the extra sata ports which is really the only reason to go X570 over B550.

Thank you all so much for the inputs! Feels like the Aurous pro is the safest bet to go for! Gotta look into the B boards vs X boards! Planning on use a NVMe drive and maybe a large sata drive just to store media and software like bank IDs and stuff that doesn’t require speed.
