*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

If they were to honour our original price that we payed and if cards went up only even £100, OC would already be at a loss of around 320k nearly on just ASUS 3080 back orders.

Edit: Went through and got all back orders, if all cards went up £100 they would have a loss of around 615k or if even worse if they did go up £250 they would have a loss of bit over 1.5 Million!

Greed turned round and bit them on the backside huh?

Thing is they lose money on refunds too, since both the original purchase and the refund transaction are charged for. Probably not to the tune of £100 an order, but apparently enough for it to be something they have to take into consideration. You would also think that at some point they would need to consider damage control for their brand, though I've seen zero commentary along those lines from Gibbo or ScottiB so far.

"If you have a contract, the company can’t usually cancel your order, even if they realise they’ve sold you something at the wrong price. They’ll only be able to cancel it if it was a genuine and honest mistake on their part that you should’ve noticed." quoted form commerce law. Since we have been charged we have signed contract with OC. This contract is legally binding according to .Gov website

I want to check that I am not the only one in this situation
- 3070 asus dual upgraded to OC version a 2 weeks ago - but no news since then (living in Scotland).
I want to assume patience will continue to do the trick here

I really don't have the time to cover every comment, question, exaggerated theory or criticism posted here in the last couple of hours. Besides trying to find stock for hundreds of system orders, trying to sort out info for exports and battling the nightmare of countless pallets stuck in customs for weeks, I have an Intel launch that I need to prepare for. As a result, I'm genuinely sorry but answers will be short and blunt.

 Overseas shipments are on hold atm whilst we rewrite our software and gather information that we were only informed two days ago that DPD will need to restart shipments. As far as graphics cards are concerned, we are sticking with the queue and allocating stock on a first come first served basis still. This is a manual process so I'm afraid that we can't do it for all products.

 Anybody who isn't happy with the supply issues or believes that we've grossly mishandled their order can cancel for a full refund at any time. We don't want you to, which why we haven't been selling spare stock and upgrades have been processed where possible, but we're making as easy as we can if you decide to take up that option. We can't change anything, we are already doing everything that we are able and criticising us using the benefit of hindsight isn't going to help the situation. If we had the man power to contact each customers and discuss options we would but that's frankly unrealistic when the incoming contact traffic still exceeds our previously busiest period ever.
HOWEVER, I'm going to politely ask that you don't submit a cancellation request until you are 100% sure that you want to cancel & if that's because you think you've managed to secure a card elsewhere, you wait until you have the card in your hand. We are wasting a lot of precious time with people requesting refunds through the cancellation form and them webnoting us because they've changed their minds or the card that they thought they'd secured was oversold.

:) We have absolutely no intention of asking customers to pay extra for a card that they've got on back order and no intention of cancelling their order simply because of price changes. We'll argue the toss with the manufacturer before that ever becomes a consideration.

:( As for blaming us for supply. Please PLEASE take out your frustrations on the social media platforms of Nvidia and the manufacturers who continue to "fairly" share stock out rather than giving it all to those partners who sold the most cards and still have back orders that need clearing. There's nothing that we can do about this other than yell, kick and scream until we are blue in the face...I really don't have the time to spend hours every day doing this but I know that Gibbo is.

While I agree with what you're saying, and have posted as much as few days back about the ventus/suprim, its not just as straight forward as that.

1. Cancellation fee's need to be offset against that.
2. The later you are in the queue the more you paid, so the loss gets less as the number gets higher. That is especially relevant with the huge asus queues.
3. Cancelling thousands of customers would be very damaging to reputation. Hard to quantify in terms of PR how much work would be undone and how much that would cost going forward in lost sales from high spending enthusiasts.

There is obviously a balance here that will be decided by those upstairs and largely dependant on unknown factors still.

Exchange of money doesnt allways constitute a contract of sale - it depends on the T&C`s of that sale ; ergo OCUK`ss terms of service.

Oh I never want them to cancel orders I was just giving some general numbers as to how much the loss could be around, I obviously dont know the full price that everyone has payed so the number isnt at all accurate but its in that ball park.

As posted previously, I received this last week from MSI: (@Gibbo any visibility on this shipment yet please?)

Hi Bill,

We are sorry to hear about the wait period you have faced,

We'll do our best to answer questions with as little vague language as possible and keep you in the utmost loop,

Regarding your position, you will need to ask OCUK about shipment details as we do not have access to their allocation and delivery system.

A new batch will come from the factory on the 14th of this month,

We recommend that you wait a week and then contact OCUK to check for the latest position updates,

Let us know if this was helpful,

The team thanks you for your continued patience and understanding during this time,

Should you have any other queries, we are here to answer them,

Kind regards,

MSI Team

Thank you for working your behinds off during lockdown guys.

To be equally blunt I haven't managed top get anything shipped from OCUK yet, inspite of buying a whole new system and coming to you first. But that's just the luck of the draw, no hard feelings. Having worked the whole of 2020... it it more difficult during lockdown and I can't imagine the complexities of having to work with physical items and supply chains during these times.

That's it I have snapped. I am still deep in the Asus Strix OC queue and estimate that I am still 4+ months away from getting my card. Other sites have ground to a halt on trying to clear their Stix OC backlog too. So I splurged on an MSI Suprim X 3090 from a competitors site so I'll be cancelling my OCUK order and returning the Corsair GPU block :(

Good luck to the rest of you, I hope you get your cards soon.

TechRader has alerts AFAICS as I seen one on my phone (when you right swipe screen and get the news etc, it was for the place that does the Nvidia FE in UK and was only for the 3090 this time but it has since sold out.

This was posted 24 hours ago so may be worth saving the sites link and keeping an eye on on 3000 stock series news.
