You could do as I did. I ordered, waiting three weeks and then called just to see if they had a rough ETA, But I explained that I realise they cant guarantee it and was only asking for a ballpark as I was excited. I was polite and understanding, and I got a broad answer, but an answer none the less.
The agent I spoke to seemed quite happy to answer me and have a bit of a chat about things, probably because I was considerate and understanding to the fact they're very busy and stressed right now.
After that I left it for about a month and called again recently, just to check where I was in the queue, and I was given an answer there too and they very kindly upgraded me to an OC card; again- I had a nice chat with the guy and he seemed quite upbeat and happy, because I wasn't forceful or angry- just curious and understanding.
If you're going to call them try and understand that they're getting loads of calls a day- it could take up to 2 hours to get the phone answered, so do it when you have nothing pressing to do and can clean up or cook dinner or whatever while you wait, try and be patient, understanding, and dont take your frustrations out on the agents and you're far more likely to get help and understanding in return.
Treat them as you would wish to be treated, but dont pester them every week or so. That's my advice.
My PC is due to arrive next week, and Ive only called twice. Patience is a virtue.
