That card was getting some sweet lovin before it left the factory. Might not even be thermal paste on it

This kind of funny stuff is what happens when humans work on the assembly line

Poor QA on a near 2k card.
Those FE do look very closed so unlike some AIB designs this doesn't look it would be seen on an visible inspection.
Guess a quick burn-in as the final QA step is too much to ask for even on a 2k card.
Brave or foolish of an end user to take the risk of breaking it to disassemble or at least voiding the warranty, rather than returning it as unfit for purpose.

Yes, since these are Nvidia's own that is true. But AIBs constantly moan about how at MSRP they'd make no margins, so Nvidia must change a pretty penny for the chips.

Actually, funny Nvidia also moan about the margins on their FE cards? So despite Nvidia and their near 70% margins and AIBs and their record sale numbers, it seems nobody is making any money!

I would argue that having the rubber is more painful experience for those on the receiving end.
