Man Drives into Train

I saw this pop up on BBC today and cannot believe the driver didn't die. Says a lot about the build of Range Rovers:

That's pretty incredible but surely the height of the Range Rover saved his life? A car would've gone straight under the carriage wouldn't it?

It was a Range Rover so I'm surprised it managed to hit the train. I would have thought it would have broken down before reaching it

10 months? for something as serious as that? I mean... wowo... fair play to the train tbh

Guess there's a few elements - nobody died, and there was no intent. If he'd done it on purpose, or killed a load of people, then yeah the sentence would've been worse!

Had to read that a few times, was trying to work out how it was a signalman's fault that a car crashed into a train when the barriers were down

train emergency brakes are quite brutal.
