I've just installed server 2022 on a VM, and come up with an issue I've never seen before.

Looking at disk management on server 2019 VMs it's like this:

Recovery - System - Primary

but on 2022 it's

System - Primary - Recovery

You can see the problem!

If I expand the primary disk, I am unable to extend it because the recovery partition is in the way

System - Primary - Recovery - Unallocated

any ideas?

Move the recovery and expand the primary.

You will likely need to use 3rd party tool, I use a bootable ISO GParted and works with most layouts :D

Like living on the edge? you could just delete it using diskpart, i cant remember the last time i've had to use the recovery tools on a vm!

I did think of that. It's not nowhere near production ready, as we're trying various things out first, so at some point it will more than likely be rebuilt anyway. Just thought about the future if I ever get this with an in production server.

How often do you have to increase the size of your c: drive, in work the c: drive is 120Gb and is only for the OS, anything else needed on that server gets its own disk.
