Hi all,
Hoping for a bit of advice from others who have had to make this decision.

I've had advice from a guy doing a quote saying Bitmac may not be good enough as i will want to drive cars on it and turn and over time it will degrade with the movement of the turning cars.
He advises SMA will suit my needs and would be a great finish and hard wearing.
He thinks Asphalt would be the ultimate finish and hardest wearing but cost the most.

SMA costing £5 per m squared more than Bitmac and Asphalt costing £10/m more than bitmac.

Anyone able to offer advice on tarmac for driveways?

I had bitmac. They initially laid 6mm although it was pooling water (driveway is fairly flat). Rather than rip it all up they put another layer on top which was 10mm water seeps through. I wished they used 10mm in the first place. All fine now though. I’m not sure 10mm would work for you. All I’m doing is driving on and off.

To give you an idea 80m2 cost me £5700. Resin would have cost me £14500.
