Can I Run a 5900X on an X470 Aorus Gaming 7 Wifi?

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has experience of running a 5900X on X470 boards, especially the Gigabyte Gaming 7 Wifi?

Yes but you will probablly need to update the bios for it to work.

i was just about to post a similar question, i have the same motherboard and would like to fit a 5800x,

i am on the latest bios but the support list says no, seems a bit odd tbh, although the support list is not up

to the latest bios revision.

What cpu do you have now, Wakadoo? I problem I read about was that updating to bios F50 or later caused the motherboard to no longer recognise chips earlier than the 3000 series. I'm currently on F31 with my 2700X, so a little cautious!

You have no worries updating the bios as it still supports your 2700x its older cpu's that's loose support due to size of the bios chip on the motherboard.

Yes. Just checked the Gigabyte site- version F60 or preferably F62d will do you.

A 5900X works perfectly fine on my and runs cooler than a 5800X does.
