Some good games on Wednesday! I wonder if we (Manchester United) will have had a shot on target by the time the Liverpool vs Newcastle game kicks off (probably not).

Got a good feeling about the Ipswich game. Going to turn a corner after that

villa having a bad end to the season people were talking about champs league again and now they are knocking on the door of the bottom half

Watched the first half of the Chelsea game. Far too good for Southampton without actually being particularly good. Newcastle only dropping one place in the table with the connotations of all these midweek games is very pleasing.

Yep, it’s not exactly a free pass, but losing tomorrow night won’t be quite as painful as it might have been. As long as we don’t ship too many and damage our GD too badly.

Yeah agree. We could have done with Chelsea losing but that wasn't realistic. Tonight’s results coupled with a lucky point tomorrow would absolutely feel like a victory to me!

Saw some scousers talking about this on an Instagram reel.
Best odds you can get at oddschecker on City being relegated are 14/1. Is this a result of people lumping on them expecting relegation pending the charges?

Amusingly Wolves odds are the same as Man Utd however Arsenal and Liverpool are both at 1,000/1. If the bottom three teams won every remaining game the best Ipswich and Leicester could do would be 53 points, which Arsenal and Liverpool already have.

Yea, the odds are that short because there's a possibility that they'll be found guilty of their charges and the points deduction could see them relegated. I guess the possibility (albeit almost non existent) of a Arsenal or Liverpool doing something that results in a points deduction this season is why you can still bet on them to go down too, even though they're mathematically safe.

I think the odds on all these scenarios are equal - zero. There must be a ton of money going on City.

Wonder if Newcastle will roll over like they did for City or if they will find some fight for tonights game?

I think the likelihood of City being found guilty is a lot less than some people believe however it's quite clearly not zero. I think we all know that City are guilty of what is claimed and there appears to be (to the average person on the street) clear evidence to support that*. In fact I think City's actions over the last two summers (making huge profits on transfers from an accounting point of view) showed that even City were planning for the worst. Yes there will be a lot of people taking a punt but I'm sure the bookies have baked into their prices the risk of City being found guilty too.

*A quick point on the leaked emails, I was amazed to read something the other year from some lawyer that stated that witness evidence from the people involved in the emails could trump the content of the emails. So basically directors at City and their ownership can simply say 'No, we didn't do that' and that counts for more than 1000s of emails where they detail exactly what they were doing.

Gomez looks like he could be some player after his full debut last night.

Rode our luck a little, but now 4 straight wins after losing 7-0. Kicked us into gear and straight back into the Europe race!
