Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

I could get this for £22 today. But based on comments here here I will.waot until it is quite a bit cheaper and been fully beta tested by Noxia. Will pick it up in maybe 12 months :D

As much as I love sprawling massive games, sometimes its a big issue especially when your older like us with responsibilities, jobs and kids etc...

Sometimes I wish more games where 12 - 15 hrs affairs rather than 100hrs plus...

All my drives are full. Games are too long, can't get through them before the next big one comes out. I think 20 hours is a good length

Trouble is, i would then complain the game is too short and it ended to quick. Lol.

Depends on the game really.

I won't complain at games being long. There has been years where hardly any games came out that I wanted to play. I got through my backlog and ess just replaying games.

The one that seems to be huge I got coming up is final fantasy 7 rebirth. Will likely take me longer than kcd2.

Personally I am a fan of 40-50 hours of gameplay range. But again depends on the game and how good it is. If very good it can be longer and I am fine.

Just as an example this expedition 33 game. I would be fine if it was 20 hours or so as never heard of it and by the sounds of it any longer and it would be overstaying it's welcome.

Oh and if a game was 20 hours i would not want to pay full price either. And by that i mean around £35.

It Looks terrible ,something to do with sharping .I'll wait tell they patch it , it looks a fun game though .

Like most PC versions of games these days, there are mods aplenty that fix stuff like this.

It really depends on how much you choose to do.

If you stick to the main story you'll get a good 40-50 hours out of it, add another 20 or so if you dabble in some of the side content.

I did around 80-90% of everything and I was at around 120 hours off the top of my head, a lot of people complained about the padding/side stuff but honestly they could have just skipped it and enjoyed the core storyline. There's as much of a game there as you want there to be, unless you're one of those completionist/achievement addicts you should have a good time of it.

If nothing else grabs you outside of the main story, the card related stuff is 10/10 and I'd highly recommend it.

That's the thing. FF7 is one of my favourite games so I could easily see myself like you doing 90%.

That's why I am thinking, let me complete God of War Ragnarok which will be like 50 hours. Then Silent Hill 2 which will be another 20 hours or so from where I left of. Then that leaves STALKER 2 which I am about a third though. Might finish that and then go FF7R with a bit of Ratched and Clank on the side.

That's the idea for now anyway :D

Still got a bunch of other games I want to play apart from those. Like Age of Empires Mythology Retold etc all installed waiting for be played.

Played another hour now and finding this boring as hell. All cutscreens and little game play, with lots of stunted unnecessary dialogue. Don't get what the fuss is about. Great graphics do not necessarily make for a great game. It's an uninstall for me.

It's essentially a JRPG set in France, those games tend to have a lot of cutscenes and dialogue.

I bought a PS5 for Rebirth and then sold the console immediately after finishing, rebought it for PC on launch but I've yet to get around to it for similar reasons to you.

I'm a huge FF7 fan, but my backlog is hefty and I'm trying to clear out Divine Force and a few others before replaying.

It's a bag of crap so it is, cut scene, battle, cut scene boss battle, cut scene rinse, repeat, a poor mans RPG, too many good games out there, can't be wasting time on a 6 outta 10.

Well I like a good story and good dialogue and this has that in spades, cut scenes are enjoyable. 9/10 GOTY.

It's caught my attention and is on my wishlist, but as mentioned earlier I've a lot of backlog.

I think a lot of people possibly went into this expecting a western style RPG in the vein of BG3, and were confronted with a more very alien (by comparison) JRPG style.

Here's a link for those wanting to make the dodge/parry mechanic a bit easier ( or harder if you desire ! ) https://www.nexusmods.com/clairobscurexpedition33/mods/28?tab=description

Staggering to think the devs think a reaction time of 0.15secs is reasonable for "normal" difficulty or even people with disabilities. That's Sekiro levels of reflexes ... no wonder I was bouncing off this game despite being a genre I usually enjoy.
