Greenlizard0 Premier League Football Thread ** spoilers ** [6th - 8th December 2025]

over all a crap game. Should have been done and dusted in 20 mins of the first half . but no, we are UTD, we do it differently. Not convinced now. Table position is good. How we play is bad. How we play against the worst team since Derby, is even badder.

4-1 win but still hard work against a terrible team

Will get worse with Maz/Amad/Mbeumo all gone in January to AFCON. Amad playing well, Mount looks better each game he plays but still lacking any cutting edge up top.

Jan? You wish! They’re off now, matey. 15th is the call up, I believe!

is this the closest the Prem has been running up to Xmas? I cant recall a table where 13th is a couple of games* from 3rd/4th place

Next up Bournemouth. Last game with Amad, Mazraoui and MBeumo. On tonights showing we wont miss Mbeumo that much, or Amad. Nous was solid but not irreplaceable. Bournemouth have gone 6 without a win so anything other than a win is really not good.
Wolves are too open for a team that is in that position. That made it easy for us but we almost cocked it up again. We are desperate for a legs in midfield. Casemiro looks like a tin man in there but he's a physical unit and good in the air. None of the other three CMs are that. Got to buy someone in January.

who? January is usually the desperation buys where teams massively over pay for players - standard stuff for United mind you

I hope the rest of the league is ashamed of themselves. This United team could be competing for the title right now.

Last nights blemish.
Amad caught ball watching - no surprise - he's a winger and not a full back
Casemiro, ball watching despite three defenders in front of him
Eight United players in frame, lost a goal to five in their only half chance of the game pretty much.

This highlights the two major flaws with Amorim's "system".
1. You need a physical, agile, athlete as a CDM, probably one that is between 23-29 years old.
2. This notion of wingbacks is probably the most difficult position to profile and source. They are almost always going to be a compromise that either blunts your attack -ie ~Dalot or expose you at the back ie Amad.

Given that he's been trying this for a year and it's not really improving then it does beggar the question as to the chances that even stellar recruitment can resolve?

Wolves first 30 mins were horrendous, I was thinking to myself, gawd we think we have it bad as a utd supporter. Their pass completion stats musta been awful.

But somehow we gave them a sniff and then suddenly getting beat by a team with 2 points out of 15 games was entirely possible, such is the utd fall.

Good performance by mount, that's about as much as I can say...but again he was playing against an awful team. City woulda put 6 or 7 past them before they got bored.

Beat 10-man everton, beat an awful West ham, Bruno not miss that pen against fulham, and we are a point behind Arsenal, unbelievable.

I feat that mbeumo and cunhna are quickly coming down to our level.

We are 6th, but I will be REALLY surprised if we are still in the top half after the AFCON.

AFCON is going to hit us really hard, I am dreading next week when we lose a few of our best players.
Mbeumo has been gash for the last three matches. Did you see his first touch last night? Caused him to miss that 1 on 1 when played through by Bruno. Got him booked after chasing back his own mistake.
Amad wasn't much better and ultimately cost us the goal.
