Google Pixel 10 Series (10/10 Pro/10 Pro XL/10 Pro Fold & Pixel Watch 4)

Answered my own stupidity by grabbing one of those "deal" price 10 Pro Fold from GiffGaff... tried it for a few days and I really could ditch the iPads etc and use just this, but the camera quality compared to the normal 10 Pro and the utter terror of carrying something so bloody expensive are the blockers. Nothing else I'd be missing from what I want from a larger format device and it really is an excellent piece of kit.

Back it goes... Swoon then sigh...

I went through similar when the 9 came out. I bought the fold but just couldn't shake the thought of the price and I could just see myself trapping something between the inner screen and scratching it do it went back and I got the pro xl instead.

Anyone here received the £100 curry’s gift card from the carphone warehouse deal?

Only just had my extra £250 trade in bonus after having to chase up my trade in which was delayed because of their trade in pack failing to turn up for weeks.
 
Does anyone here have the standard 10 and rate the camera? Hearing not so good things about it, given it is the sensor from the 9A but hoping it is at least an upgrade over my current 7? I'm waiting for the £300 trade in bonus from JL to come through before I open the box.

7 non pro?

If so it's a smaller sensor and a little better processing. So about the same thereabouts.
And now you get the option of a decent telephoto.

Yeah the 7 non pro. That does sound in line with what I expected, potentially a decrease hardware wise on the main camera but with the processing improved. I am wanting things like the telephoto lens, a better battery and also for camping trips things like satellite sos and video over usb c (for watching stuff on a connected portal monitor).

Heh, I was looking at them last week - saw they had 7 of the 10 pro in stock, but wasn't sure because I didn't much like the porcelain. Decided I couldn't pass it up, but went back and they were sold out.

Tried again a few hours later and there was one back in stock, so grabbed that while I could.

Nice upgrade from my previous pixel 6 - also now it's in a case I can't see the colour anyway :p

A bit out of date now on this but has anything been said about the outdated GPU drivers? Last I heard something might have been coming in December?

Not sure if it'll apply to this but a lot of the time these functions also need a play store app update to come down before they're available so you may still be waiting on that.

Man maths. Cried a bit when I sent the Moonstone one back.

Got a Jade one arriving tomorrow. Only live once etc.

Getting some decent insurance and it'll be fine!

If I'm really that bothered about pixel peaking photos, the standard 10 Pro will still be lurking.
 
So it's a couple of days in with the 10 Pro Fold and I have to say it's great. Took a few hours to get up to snuff with OS updates etc, and I've had no real issues that some of the initial "1 week with" reviews so far. Couple of apps I've got aren't playing nicely in either slab or fold mode and I've raised support requests (FireAngel for one).

Weirdly, while the official cases appear really good, they're more slippery than the 10 Pro ones were out of the box (those get grippier over time, greasy fingers). I can't see the Fold ones getting grippier, as it's a very different material to the slab phone cases, so can't say I'd trust one long term... Mate has a 9 Fold and he's ended up without the front section of the official case, so there's that lack of longevity as well maybe? Ended up with a Spigen Hybrid case to start with, and a Tudia Mergegrip to try... the Spigen is nice and grippy, so hopefully no phone fling moments.

Still utterly baffled as to how GiffGaff could sell them at the price they did, but I'm not complaining!
