UEFA Champions & Europa League Football Thread ** spoilers ** [9th - 11th December 2025]

No issue with coming to the decision of handball for the goal but it feels very much like if Inter had scored it, they wouldn't have spent as long looking for a reason to disallow it.
Took so long that I think the VAR people had popped out for a cappuccino and a pizza

So Liverpool fans, how does this performance measure vs the rest of the season?

Slot surely has to be gone by Christmas if this is par.

They shouldn't be impressed, Inter haven't won any of their "big" matches this season.

But making absolutely easy work of their other matches.

It’s better but it’s so slow.

I can’t say entirely if we’re worse or better as I don’t think Inter are really going for it so to speak they seem in fist gear.

Inter are a sluggish Italian team happy to play slow and occasionally play fast to create chances. Liverpool have played into that.

Yeah, Inter have been pretty poor so its hard to judge us, but its all been too slow for my tastes again. I think we are far better when we play fast football but Slot simply doesnt seem to want to play that way.

Its bizarre. You look like United of the past 10+ years. Square pegs in round holes. Slow play but with enough quality players to still cause issues for most teams with the odd bit of nice linkup. Little in the way of style or shape a lot of the time. Players trying to do something and finding a complete lack of support.

Square pegs and round holes is it yeah. I actually think we've got a very good set of players to be able to play fast high pressing football, but I dont think this set of players are the right sorts of players to play slow patient build up play, so its almost like Slot has the wrong players for the system he wants to play.

I'm not entirely convinced. I think you are missing a Diaz. VVD is a year older as well. You've lost the cheat card of TAA. I would certainly agree that you don't remotely have the team to play slow football. I think you've just got a bit of a mish mash of players now. The system Liverpool have played has always required workman like players that have been elevated by the system and without its identity I think you have a few too many decent but uninspiring players.

I think even last season the signs were there that things were a little shaky but I just can't fathom what Liverpool and Slot are trying to build here.

Well we've adopted your transfer policy of very expensive players without a plan, so we may as well take on your tactics as well

Needs a Wirtz on for Gomez or something. Bit creativity. Put him in the LM position moving into the no10 in possession. Stick Jones at RB for the inverted role.

Bit of a dreary match and I cant even cheer myself up by winning my acca because somehow Watford are blowing it against Shoddy Sheffield Wednesday

Game has the feel of one were we’re going to give away a sloppy goal after failing to capitalise on some good build up play.
